Everyone that comes in knows Chef John for his friendly demeanor and jovial personality. John has been at the Floridian for over 31 years. He started as a busboy, worked his way up to the dish room cleaning pots and pans, and then got his big break working in the kitchen alongside his father, brother and with long-time chef Butch, who was his mentor and is now the owner of the Floridian.

“I was inspired to become a chef because I grew up around restaurants all my life. I have watched my family cooking in the kitchen for as long as I can remember,”

Each day, Chef John and his team of experienced cooks mix up the best meals in town, including homemade soups, fresh chili, marinara sauce, their famous crab meat omelet which was featured on the Rachael Ray show, meatloaf, country ham which is flown in from West Virginia, a plethora of desserts such as cakes and brownies and much more.  “We have a very traditional menu, with all the same original recipes from 30 years ago,” he said.
